About Jennifer M. Barge

Jennifer M. Barge has been a leader in health and beauty for over 30 years starting when she was 17 and has worked in the transgender community for 20 years. Not only is Jennifer an award winning makeup and hair artist she is also a talented photographer .
Jennifer has several awards including the “2010 Trinity Award of Excellence” for her work with the CDC, 1,000’s of medical facilities across the country and the Transgender community. She was monumental in bringing free health screenings to conferences in 2007 for the first time including Fantasia Fair, Southern Comfort Conference and IFGE to name a few.
The founder and Director of TransHealth Coordinators, Jennifer strived to educate mainstream medical professionals of the true needs of our community and that anthologizing us all into believing we all need surgical solutions to “fix” us is wrong.
Jennifer has spoken in congress, sat on several boards including the ACLU-NC Transgender Advisory Board, the Southern Comfort Board of Directors and is a former director of The Robert Eads Health Imitative.
Jennifer is the first transgender person the CDC has used in a national campaign on health in print media and PSA across the country and her face is posted on billboards across the country in regards to transgender health concerns.
2015 she was listed as number 32 of the top 40 gender rule breakers.
In 2016 Jennifer Barge closed the doors of TransHealth Coordinators because she achieved the goals that she set in 2006 for that organization and thought it best to allow the next generation step up.
Jennifer’s focus is now on doing what she loves best; offering her talent to help others be their best!
Jennifer says “As a trans-woman, I am sensitive to the true needs of my clients, women just like me, rather than simply profiting from them. I have traveled from coast to coast to prepare people from all walks of life for those special moments in their lives. And in 2019 I will continue my quest!"
